It’s the amount of “what we’re doing about the Coronavirus” emails I’ve gotten over the past few days. I don’t give a fuck what BMW of Corpus Christi is doing about the Coronavirus.
UPDATE
Don’t worry, LKQ has got us covered.

As someone who works in a retail industry, I can tell you we are terrified that you won’t come into our stores and buy stuff even though we are open (in most places).

I can understand that. I had to pick up a watch from repaid the jewelry store and I called to make sure they were still open.

I got one from an auction house I bought a Heywood Wakefield cabinet from 6 years ago, assuring me that they expect to reopen as soon as the governor permits and look forward to serving me then. That’s the most random one with the most tenuous connection so far.
I understand my banks and dental office reaching out with updated info, everything else, who cares. Even the important ones won't be important after this is over, nothing will be important anymore

I manage a bank, and half the calls we’ve been getting this week are people asking if we’re still open. Starting Monday, we’re c losing the lobby to people without appointments, and that’s started misinformation spreading that we're shutting down totally or have already done it.

On the other hand, there’s my doctor’s office where I was scheduled for a routine physical on Tuesday. I figured it was a 50/50 shot, so I called Monday and...
…
..
they had converted the entire office into a COVID testing center. All appointments canceled.
And they did NOT let me know. However, BuyDig was ensuring me 3x per hour
that if I wanted a new hard drive or camera, it would not be infected.

That’s some bravery, offering a 20 yr 200,000* warranty on an FCA product.

As someone who used to work in retail, I can tell you how glad I am not to be in your shoes right now...

I’m a developer so I can keep working remotely, but obviously if the company can’t sell things will still get bad. We are already planning furloughs, though it sounds like I’m not going to be affected by that.

Junk mail never fails to deliver. Some of this can be overly important to certain segments of the population such as relaying senior only hours or the need for an appt.
Try not to let it bother me and just follow the link to unsubscribe.

O god my email inbox consists of:
- 50 emails from auto dealers telling me they’re open (you can now buy a car and we’ll deliver it to you without touching you!)
- 500 emails from restaurants telling me they have takeout/no contact delivery available. Many of these restaurants I’ve never HEARD of, let alone been to. At least 10% aren’t even in the state I live in.
